ABOUT PACHY SARMIENTO
MIAMI, June 2007- With its pillow shape, annexed extremities and halfhearted face, its only purpose in life is to make you laugh, cry, and many times think: PINKYPUNK offers that constant presence that only an unconditional friendship can give.
As a soft and squishy buddy, it accepts its decorative circumstance and becomes the comforting companion of your joy and laughter. Those are the qualities of the PINKYPUNKS: huggable because they are comfortable, understanding because they are flexible, trustworthy because they are mute and therefore becoming your new best friend through the good times and the bad.
Pachy Sarmiento describes her own creations as contradictory figures. In fact, the name “PINKYPUNK” articulates the irreverent behavior, the most offensive but also the most innocent, of a child who sticks out his tongue to his parents, without losing his PINK innocence and his PUNK rebellious characteristics. That child makes PINKYPUNK, an example of an oxymoron: a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms.
Pachy decided to give a twist to her career as a graphic designer and pursue a dream that proudly and successfully threads into each and every one of her PINKYPUNKS. “One way or another, sewing has always been part of my life. But I had never touched a sewing machine even less owned one; and never took part in projects where needles, threads and fabrics would be my working tools,” “For years, I thought about all the things I learned from my grandmothers and wanted to put them into practice” Pachy.
Currently, Pachy works as a freelance graphic designer in Miami, Florida as well as on her PINKYPUNKS which you can virtually enjoy at www.pinkypunk.tv .
