Penguins are one of the most iconic creatures in the animal kingdom. You gotta love their tuxedo waddle on land, but respect their grace under water. With only about 1500 breeding pairs left in the world, the Yellow Eyed Penguin is the rarest of all penguin species. The yellow-eyed penguin evolved in the cool coastal forests of New Zealand where it had no natural enemies. With the arrival of the first humans came Kiore (Polynesian rat), dogs, and later the Norwegian ship rats, cats, cattle and sheep. The coastal forest that was home to the yellow eyed penguin was burnt down or cut to clear the land for farming cattle and sheep. In a few hundred years these invasive species and human occupation took a great toll on the well being of this penguin species. People need to open their eyes and see the loss which is taken place right under their noses, not just with this particular species but so many others as well. The Yellow Eyed Penguin might be gone within our life time, support wildlife conservation if you can. Hinenuitepo is Makutu’s sister. Like her Maori name sake, she is the “goddess of death and great lady of the night”. Preferring to attack enemy ships at night when most of the crew is sleeping, she is very effective in her kill ratio and exceptional water borne combat specialist. Hinenuitepo is more aggressive and edgier than her sister. Fearless in the face of the most brutal combat, she has her tribal face tattoo and Terminator Skull emblem proudly displayed on her body as a warning to all that cross her path. An old skool fan of pre-Rollins Black Flag and Fugazi, Hinenuitepo prefers her cod and calamari lightly breaded, and often teases Mauktu for being such a neat freak at home.

We have always enjoyed this line and are just happy as can be. Expect more exclusives in the future from many well known names in the Design Vinyl Art Toy genre.
